The Norwegian Centre for Transmission Electron Microscopy, NORTEM, is a nationally coordinated project between the two leading TEM-groups in Norway in Trondheim and Oslo, with three partners: SINTEF, NTNU and UiO. It was established in 2012. The total cost of the project, 15.5 M Euros, was co-financed by the INFRA programme in the Research Council of Norway (7.7 M Euros) and own contributions from the three partners.

 

Vision

The vision of NORTEM is to become a world-class TEM Centre providing access to expertise and state-of-the-art infrastructure for fundamental and applied research within the physical sciences in Norway.

 

Aims

NORTEM aims to build activities and competence in partnership with national and international academic and research organisations, as well as Norwegian and international industry.
